Jim Outram B.A. (Hons.), PGCE

Biography

 

 

I am an active and enthusiastic musician, playing piano, flute and singing since 1980.

 

I have played in several professional bands and orchestras covering styles as diverse as Pop, Rock, Latin, Jazz, Funk, House, Classical & Folk.

 

I studied GCSE and A Level Music and graduated in 1996 from Bretton Hall College of the University Of Leeds attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Popular Music Studies and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education.

 

I moved from my home-town of Sheffield in 1996 to take up post as lecturer in Music Technology/ Media at Pembrokeshire College (Wales, UK), specialising in performance and digital audio recording.

As well as setting up the Music Technology courses and recording facilities at Pembrokeshire College

I presented a weekly local radio show on 102.5 Radio Pembrokeshire and I set up and managed my own recording studio (The Academy Studio) where I recorded local musicians as well as my own compositions.

 

I joined the teaching team of Haverfordwest Music Academy in 2005 offering studies in Piano,  Keyboard, Recording & Composition as well as offering support for students pursuing GCSE Music

 

In 2007 I moved to Paphos (Cyprus) with my wife, and fellow musician, Maria to pursue our careers as professional entertainers

 

I have continued teaching part-time on the teams at Limassol Theatre Arts School (September 2011 to December 2013) & TLC Private School Peyia (September 2012 until July 2013)

In 2010 I started running karaoke shows under the guise of The Music Man Cyprus and from 2019 - 2021 (to keep up with my aural skills & live piano work) I ran an open mic/ jamming session.

​

2022 sees a full-time Karaoke schedule.
